About Blaze White Enamel
Blaze White is a bright, clean white enamel for doors, window frames, furniture and metal. It gives woodwork a crisp, freshly painted look.
White enamel shows the surface underneath more than dark colours. A light sanding and a good primer help get an even, glossy finish.
It's a popular choice for internal doors, wardrobe shutters, window frames and wooden ceilings in modern homes, where a clean white trim makes rooms look bigger and brighter. On metal, it suits railings and garden furniture in light-coloured settings.
Key features
- Ready-mixed bright white
- High-gloss finish
- For iron and wood
How to apply
Remove rust, old flaking paint and grease, then sand the surface lightly. Apply a suitable primer — red oxide or zinc chromate for iron, wood primer for wood. Brush on two thin coats of enamel, thinning with mineral turpentine as directed on the tin, and let the first coat dry fully before the second.
Recommended primer: Red oxide or zinc chromate primer on iron; wood primer on wood.
Frequently asked questions
Oil-based white enamels can mellow slightly with age, especially indoors away from sunlight. Good ventilation while it dries and a clean, primed surface help keep the white looking fresh.
Yes. Synthetic enamel is made for iron and wood, indoors and outdoors. For gates and grills, remove rust and apply a metal primer first so the Blaze White topcoat lasts longer.
Enamel is oil-based, so it's thinned with mineral turpentine, not water. Follow the thinning ratio printed on the tin, and clean your brushes with turpentine afterwards.
