Golden Yellow is a bright, warm yellow enamel used on machinery, barriers, road and parking markings, grills and children's furniture.
As a high-visibility colour, it's often chosen for safety markings and equipment on sites and in workshops.
At home, Golden Yellow brightens children's furniture, swings and garden features, and works well alongside green, blue and white.
Remove rust, old flaking paint and grease, then sand the surface lightly. Apply a suitable primer — red oxide or zinc chromate for iron, wood primer for wood. Brush on two thin coats of enamel, thinning with mineral turpentine as directed on the tin, and let the first coat dry fully before the second.
Recommended primer: Red oxide or zinc chromate primer on iron; wood primer on wood.
Yellow is a light colour with lower hiding power, so covering a dark colour usually needs a primer or undercoat plus two coats of yellow for an even finish.
Yes. Synthetic enamel is made for iron and wood, indoors and outdoors. For gates and grills, remove rust and apply a metal primer first so the Golden Yellow topcoat lasts longer.
Enamel is oil-based, so it's thinned with mineral turpentine, not water. Follow the thinning ratio printed on the tin, and clean your brushes with turpentine afterwards.
