Leaf Brown is an earthy, olive-leaning brown enamel. It suits garden gates, railings, outdoor furniture and woodwork in natural settings.
It blends well with plants and stone, which makes it a good pick for gardens, farmhouses and hill-style homes.
It's a subtle, natural colour that doesn't stand out against greenery, which makes it popular for fencing, trellises, pergolas and gazebos. It also suits homes with stone cladding or earthy exterior colours.
Remove rust, old flaking paint and grease, then sand the surface lightly. Apply a suitable primer — red oxide or zinc chromate for iron, wood primer for wood. Brush on two thin coats of enamel, thinning with mineral turpentine as directed on the tin, and let the first coat dry fully before the second.
Recommended primer: Red oxide or zinc chromate primer on iron; wood primer on wood.
It's a brown with an olive, leafy undertone, earthier than plain brown. It suits garden and outdoor metalwork especially well.
Yes. Synthetic enamel is made for iron and wood, indoors and outdoors. For gates and grills, remove rust and apply a metal primer first so the Leaf Brown topcoat lasts longer.
Enamel is oil-based, so it's thinned with mineral turpentine, not water. Follow the thinning ratio printed on the tin, and clean your brushes with turpentine afterwards.
