About Brown Enamel
Brown is the everyday, all-purpose brown enamel, used on doors, window frames, grills and furniture in homes and offices.
It's a safe, neutral colour that works with most wall shades and matches a lot of existing woodwork.
When you're not sure which brown matches your existing woodwork, plain Brown is usually the easiest to blend in. It's widely used on schools and offices for doors and frames.
Key features
- Ready-mixed brown
- High-gloss finish
- For iron and wood
How to apply
Remove rust, old flaking paint and grease, then sand the surface lightly. Apply a suitable primer — red oxide or zinc chromate for iron, wood primer for wood. Brush on two thin coats of enamel, thinning with mineral turpentine as directed on the tin, and let the first coat dry fully before the second.
Recommended primer: Red oxide or zinc chromate primer on iron; wood primer on wood.
