Imperial Crimson is a deep, rich red enamel, darker and more elegant than P.O. Red. It's used on main doors, decorative grills and temple woodwork.
It gives a traditional, festive look that suits entrances and pooja rooms.
Imperial Crimson pairs beautifully with cream, white and gold accents. Many families use it with a touch of Gold enamel on grill patterns for a rich, festive look around Diwali.
Remove rust, old flaking paint and grease, then sand the surface lightly. Apply a suitable primer — red oxide or zinc chromate for iron, wood primer for wood. Brush on two thin coats of enamel, thinning with mineral turpentine as directed on the tin, and let the first coat dry fully before the second.
Recommended primer: Red oxide or zinc chromate primer on iron; wood primer on wood.
Imperial Crimson is a deeper, darker red with a richer, more traditional look. P.O. Red is a brighter, pure red often used for visibility and signage.
Yes. Synthetic enamel is made for iron and wood, indoors and outdoors. For gates and grills, remove rust and apply a metal primer first so the Imperial Crimson topcoat lasts longer.
Enamel is oil-based, so it's thinned with mineral turpentine, not water. Follow the thinning ratio printed on the tin, and clean your brushes with turpentine afterwards.
