Phirozi is a bright turquoise enamel, a traditional favourite for grills, doors, window shutters and almirahs across north India.
It's ready-mixed, so the shade stays the same from tin to tin. That's handy when you're matching existing painted grills or touching up.
Phirozi pairs nicely with white or cream walls and gives older houses a cheerful, traditional character. It's also used on school furniture, shop shutters and water tank stands where a bright, friendly colour is wanted.
Remove rust, old flaking paint and grease, then sand the surface lightly. Apply a suitable primer — red oxide or zinc chromate for iron, wood primer for wood. Brush on two thin coats of enamel, thinning with mineral turpentine as directed on the tin, and let the first coat dry fully before the second.
Recommended primer: Red oxide or zinc chromate primer on iron; wood primer on wood.
Yes. Phirozi (also spelt firozi) is the Hindi name for turquoise, the bright blue-green shade often seen on grills, doors and window shutters.
Yes. Synthetic enamel is made for iron and wood, indoors and outdoors. For gates and grills, remove rust and apply a metal primer first so the Phirozi topcoat lasts longer.
Enamel is oil-based, so it's thinned with mineral turpentine, not water. Follow the thinning ratio printed on the tin, and clean your brushes with turpentine afterwards.
Yes. We deliver Phirozi enamel across Dehradun, usually within 1–2 days, and delivery is free on orders above ₹10,000. You can also pick it up from our shop on Vidhan Sabha Road, Defence Colony, near the Railway Crossing.
